Marvin Lee Stanton

He was born November 24, 1939, in Riverside, Missouri, the son of MD and Grace (Newman) Stanton. Marvin grew up in Riverside and graduated from Park Hill High School.

Marvin married Beverly Bryant on October 28, 1961, in Gladstone, Missouri. This union was blessed with five children.

He began working for Kroger Groceries and then transitioned to Associated Wholesale Grocers where he retired in 1998.

His family remembers him as a hard worker who often cared for many lawns in addition to his own and he helped to build the neighborhood entrance sign. He was an avid NASCAR and stock car racing fan. When he was younger he enjoyed fishing at the Lake of the Ozarks and was often found working in one of his many vegetable gardens. Many summer holidays were spent camping with his family especially at Jellystone campground in Turney, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents MD and Grace Stanton; one daughter, Lois Elaine Ruth; one son, Michael Lee Stanton; one great granddaughter, Ryan Grace Hampel; and one sister, Alberta Vandepopulier.

Marvin is survived by his wife of 63 years, Beverly Stanton; three daughters, Marva Weir and husband Jeff of Kansas City, Missouri; Dianna Marroquin of Kansas City, Missouri; and Amy Oiler of Bonner Springs, Kansas; Nine grandchildren, Brandon Weir (Tamara), Jesse Ruth, Heather Hampel (Matt), Rachel Schmidt (Sam), Jose Marroquin, Kaden Richardson (Rebecca), Alex Oiler, Ruth Oiler (Sydney), and Noemi Marroquin; five great grandchildren, Emma Hampel, Paige Hampel, Lily Mattson, Ivy Schmidt, and Eleanor Weir; two sisters, Doris Blankenship (Donald) and Betty Bradford, of Kansas City, Missouri.

A visitation for Marvin will be held Monday, December 30, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Road, Gladstone, Missouri 64119. A funeral service will occur Monday, December 30, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 6600 NE Antioch Road, Gladstone, Missouri 64119. A graveside service will occur Monday, December 30, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at White Chapel Cemetery, 6600 NE Antioch Road, Gladstone, Missouri 64119.
