Born on August 19, 1933, in Clarence, Iowa, to Elmer and Myrtle Anderson, Naomi cultivated a lifelong passion for learning and teaching. After earning her degree in education, she dedicated over a quarter-century to shaping young minds as an elementary school teacher. Her gentle spirit, kindness, and unwavering patience left a lasting impression, particularly on her son, who cherishes those memories.
Naomi found her soulmate in Loren Pendergraft, whom she married in 1957. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised their sons, Marc and Coy. Their family enjoyed countless summers creating memories at the Lake of the Ozarks, filled with good food and shared adventures. After Loren's battle with pancreatic cancer ended in 1995, Naomi found solace and purpose in giving back. She became an active volunteer, even managed the volunteers. She always contributed to and compassionately helped at Lakeview Village retirement community. Her thoughtful nature continued to shine even later in life through the handmade cards she crafted for special occasions.
Known for her love of travel, vibrant florals, and a well-organized life, Naomi embraced each day with grace.
She was reunited in passing with her parents, Elmer and Myrtle Anderson; her devoted husband, Loren Pendergraft; and her son, Marc Pendergraft; her siblings, Ruth Bender, Ernest Anderson, Lois McDonald, Lowell Anderson and Raymond Anderson.
Naomi's legacy is carried on by her son, Coy (Becky) Pendergraft; her grandsons, Nathan (Alexa) Pendergraft and Logan Pendergraft; and her great-granddaughter, Ivy Jane Pendergraft.
In lieu of flowers, to honor Naomi's memory, the family suggests that donations be made to a charity that holds special meaning to you.
