Rev. Norman Porter

Norman was born on December 27, 1930 in Versailles, MO, the son of Leonard and Edith (Hess) Porter. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He was married to Eunice Hensley on July 5, 1950 in Eldon, MO. He worked as a machinist for several years. He was a devoted Pentecostal minister serving mostly in the Kansas City area for 40 plus years. He lived at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron for the past 6 years. Norman spent his entire life helping others that were in need.

Survivors include his son, Steve Porter and wife, Vickie, of Platte City, MO; five grandchildren, Athena Reynolds, Shanelle Price, Natasha Wright, Dakoda Wright and Sadie Thompson and husband, Cody; five great grandchildren, Sydney Reynolds, Chase Hale, Dynten Hale, Ali Lawson and Alivia Thompson; one brother, Vernon Porter; and one sister, Louise Fulkerson.

Those preceding him in death were his wife, Eunice Hensley; two sisters, Frances and Cleola; one brother, John Porter; and one daughter, Nyla George.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the “Assistance Leagues Employee Fund” through the Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron, MO, that helps recognize the care givers of the veterans.
