Peter was born on July 26, 1974, to David and Cynthia Olson. He was baptized and confirmed as a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Kansas City. He graduated from Holy Cross Lutheran School.
After Peter’s graduation from the Lutheran High School of Kansas City, he went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from Concordia University Chicago. Upon his graduation from Concordia in 1997, Peter accepted God’s Call to serve as the music, band and choir instructor for Lutheran Schools in the Sheboygan area. During this time, he earned a Master’s Degree in Music from Northwestern University. In 2014, Peter accepted God’s Call to serve at the Lutheran High School of Kansas City, where he also taught in several of the area Lutheran elementary schools. Through his immense musical ability and love of the Lord, he was a gift to every student in his music classes, whether they were in band, vocal or handbell choirs. His many talents enriched the lives of countless people.
Peter spent his free time helping others. He opened his heart and home to numerous international students throughout his time at Lutheran High. He was a tremendous cook. He played a mean tune on his accordion and was an extremely talented pianist. He relished his time fishing and boating at the Lake of the Ozarks. He brought joy and a wry sense of humor into this world.
Peter is survived by his parents, David and Cynthia; brothers Scott, Glenn (Judy), and John; nieces, Emily and Katie (Brandon); nephews, Christopher (Kinsey) and Nate; great nephews Rylan, Graham and August.
