He was born in 1955 in Kansas City, MO. He graduated from NKC High School in 1973, later earning a degree in Criminal Justice from Metropolitan Community College. He was a member of the Kansas City Police Department retiring as Sergeant after 30 years in law enforcement.
In 1994 he married Kim (Dreyer) Dickerson in Warrenton, MO. They had two children, Katherine (Katie) and Carolyn. His children remember him as a kind, patient, and loving father with a servant's heart.
Robert enjoyed history, airplanes, reading, and being a member of the Police Department. HIs first love was God, second was his family. He was a member of the Vivion Road Church of Christ, serving as Deacon for many years. Even in retirement, he was a policeman at heart-choosing to sit in the back of the church to “keep an eye on things”. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the National Kidney Association or the Police Historical Association (http://kcmophs.org/)
Services for Robert will be held at Vivion Road Church of Christ on Saturday October 17, 2020. Visitation will be 10:00 - 11:30am with a Memorial Service to immediately follow.
