Ronald D. Saunders

Ronald D. Saunders, 52, of Gladstone, passed away on August 5, 2014 after a courageous fight with colon cancer.Ron was raised in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Virgil C. and Delores L. (Doe Doe) Saunders. He attended Stony Point Elementary and F.L. Schlagie High School. With a childhood filled with neighborhood friends, siblings, cousins, aunts and uncles the memories are endless. In his young adult years Ron enjoyed dirt bike riding, camping, and going to Lakeside Speedway every Friday night. What he enjoyed most the past 15 years was going to Pomme De Terre Lake. Nothing was better to him than a cold beer on the dock or a quiet ride on the pontoon with his family, lake friends and his dogs. Along with Beth Saunders and Kevin Atlakeson he raised 3 beautiful daughters and was so proud of their accomplishments.

Ron leaves behind husband Kevin Atlakson, of the home; daughters, Lindsay Saunders, 23, a FACS teacher at Lathrop High School, Taylor Saunders, 19, a student at Missouri Western State University and Erin Atlakson, 30, a probation officer for the State of Missouri; Parents, sisters, Sharon (Don) Knapp and Cheryl Erwin, twin brother, Don (Michelle) Saunders, Beth Saunders and many other relatives and friends. Memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM, Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at White Chapel Funeral Homes. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM, Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at the funeral home.
