Ruth was born on January 11, 1930 in Kansas City, Missouri to parents Joseph I. and Anna M. Moeller. She had three brothers: Joseph, Thomas, and James Moeller.
Ruth attended Central High School in Kansas City, Missouri and graduated in 1947.
She met the love of her life, Donald Ray Totman while working as a car hop. Don nicknamed her “Bugs” because she snacked on carrots. They were married on March 1, 1948 in Kansas City, Missouri. They had originally planned to wed on February 29th, but moved the wedding to March 1st, so that they could have an anniversary every year instead of once every four years.
Don and Ruth have a lovely family:
• Two beautiful daughters: Sandy and Carol
• Three grandchildren: Stacy, Marshal, and Kevin
• Seven greatgrandchildren: Aleasha, Matthew, Aaron, Frankie, Ayden, Landon, and Paisley
• One great-great-grandchild: Jacob
Ruth and Don lived most of their life in Kansas City, Missouri, where they made life-long friends of the Waggener, Humphrey, and Pennington families.
They moved to Gravois Mills, Missouri after retiring in 1995.
Ruth lost Don in October 1997, and she missed him every one of her remaining days.
In 2014, Ruth moved to Liberty, Missouri.
Ruth was a wonderful and loving person, wife, sister, and mother. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, sewing, baking, and visiting. She always cherished the time she spent with her immediate and extended family.
After the passing of her husband Don, Ruth became a supporter of the charity Burns Recovered. It had special meaning to Ruth and was especially important since her husband Don was burned in a housefire as an infant.
Ruth was truly loved by her family. We will miss her every day.
