I just heard about Steve’s passing and am so sorry to hear of it.  I have known Steve since Oak Park.  I just happened to run into Steve at Gladstone Bowl about a year ago and really enjoyed catching up.  He will be missed.  God speed, Steve.

I’m am deeply sorry for your loss. Steve  worked with me in the audiovisual departments  in downtown KC hotels for years. He was always trustworthy, honest, and most importantly kind to everyone he associated with.   No matter what, Steve always had a warm smile to share.

I am so sorry to learn of Steve's passing. I knew the Bowen boys growing up, from when George and I were classmates and buddies from the 8th grade. I didn't know Steve well, since he was the youngest boy, but I had high regard for him and his whole family.
I remember that he always had a smile on his face, and our neighbors in Gladstone all liked him.
We reconnected after George died several years ago, and we found we shared much of the same political views. He was the last link I had to George. I will miss him.

I met Steve and his family in the mid sixties. He quickly was brought into my family. He was the type of guy that everyone loved. After high-school we went our own ways but a couple of years ago we ran into each other. We have spent many hours talking about old times. We would meet at the bowling alley and talk for hours. I am so lucky to have had hom in my life in the sixties and more importantly the last few years. He will be missed.

With sadness I write this for a long time friend. When we played football for the Gladstone Gladiators Steve wrote on the back of his practice jersey “Catch me if you can” and for us old timers that was a great song. On the day I heard of Steve’s passing that song came on Spotify. He always had a smile on his face when I saw him all too infrequently in recent years. Peace Steve

Steve and I met my first year of elementary public school in sixth grade. Five years of Catholic school my parents decided public school was a better fit. Steve lived close by and we would race our bikes around the parking lot of the post office and a nearby elementary school. We were locker partners at Antioch Junior High, (now Middle School).  He would bring me along with the band that he was the sound mixer for. We only reconnected at our 40th Oak Park reunion. And we said then that we need to get together. My regret is that we never did. Rest in peace, brother.

Steve was one of my best friends thru junior high, high school, and roadie in a couple bands (Roaring Judy, Denver Locke). We went to the lake on senior week in high school , and worked together at Castle Metals. The Bowens even took me into the Bowen household, when my folks moved to Texas.  We’ve grown apart over the last 40+ years, but I’ve loved Steve, and his family after all these years!

Steve was one of my best friends thru junior high, high school, a couple of bands (Roaring Judy) (Denver Locke), and we worked together at Castle Metals. The Bowens took me in for a bit when my folks moved to Texas. We’ve grown apart over the last 40 years, but  I have loved the Bowens for taking me in, when I needed a place to stay, and I love and will miss Steve and the great times we’ve had growing up!

I have known Steve since High School.  I will always treasure the many laughs and precious memories over the years. My husband and I made him a photo collage of his days with The Denver Locke band and gave it to him when he came over for a visit. We miss him so very much. RIP Steve! You will always be loved.
