

He was born on December 19, 1951, in Macon, Missouri, the son of George Herschel and Margery A. (Bowen) Williams. Stephen graduated from Oak Park High School with the Class of 1970.
Stephen was married twice, to the former Gail Gensler, mother of Amy and later to Marie (Carpenter) Bowen, mother of Kristen. Stephen worked as a sound engineer doing lights and sound for then local band Denver Locke. Ending his career working for several hotels in Kansas City. His passions were family, football, baseball, and auto racing.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Marie Bowen; parent, George Bowen; his older brother, George Bowen Jr.; and sister, Linda Duncan Brechter.
Stephen is survived by his mother, Margery Bowen Williams; daughters, Amy Miner, Kristen Hanson and husband Phillip of Columbia, Missouri; six grandchildren, Jamie (Dusty Bebout), Jaden, Jaycie, Anders, Cade, and Kayleigh; two great-grandchildren, Charlie and Wilder Bebout; siblings, David (Pam) of Virginia and Arizona and Brenda (Michael Nelson) of Gladstone Missouri.
A Celebration of Life for Stephen will be held on Sunday, October 27, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at The Venue North, 232 NE Barry Road, Kansas City, Missouri, 64155. Chiefs attire is welcome.
