

Terry L. Trautwein was born on December 8, 1938 and passed away surrounded by his wife and family in the early morning hours of May 10, 2018. Terry was the second of four children born to Wayne and Fern Trautwein, formerly of Clay Center.
Terry is preceded in death by his parents; Wayne and Fern and one sister, Sharon Armstrong and brother-in-law, Ken Armstrong.
Terry was born and spent his early years in Clay Center, KS. He graduated high school and he moved to Kansas City, Missouri and began a 36 year career with hallmark. He was an offset pressman and also worked in creative workshop. During that time he married Lois Hulett from which his two precious children; Jeff and Amy were born.
In 1981, he married Paula Sanchez who became the Love of his life. He soon became a member of Paula's family and loved them all. He enjoyed his Friday night poker group, horshoe tournaments and softball. Terry volunteered at the Bethel Church and taught Sunday school. He loved his Volkswagen cars and was always tinkering on something.
He adored his children and grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was a mentor to all and always had time to help his family, neighbors, friends and never met a stranger.
Grateful to have shared his life are his wife Paula Trautwein of Kansas City, son Jeff (Lori) Trautwein of McMinnville, TN; daughter Amy Trautwein, Kansas City; stepson Andy Kasparian; sister Connie Trautwein Kansas City; brother Wayne "Dick" (Becky) Trautwein of Kansas City; nieces and nephews; Kim McBride, Gary Poole, Demetri Trautwein, Derek (Margo) Trautwein,; grandchildren Rebecca and Walker and great grandchild Kule. Also special friends of the family Helen Velasquez and Jennifer Copp-Stubler. He loved his many cousins and extended family in Clay Center
Terry will be interned at White Chapel Cemetery. Donations can be made to Kindred Hospice or Garden Valley Nursing home in honor of Terry's Memory.
