Thomas Eugene Norsworthy

Tom was born on March 25, 1948, in Kansas City, MO to Thomas & Lucille Norsworthy. He graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1966. Tom joined the Navy from 1968-1972 and did a tour in Vietnam, serving as a Corpsman from 1969-1970. After Vietnam, he came home to his family and cut sugar to make ends meet while going to college at Missouri Western. He graduated Summa Cum Laude within in 3 years with an accounting degree in 1975. He was chosen by the State of Missouri & Kansas to be the most outstanding accounting student. Tom married Connie Ann Norsworthy, they met in high school and married on April 21st, 1968. They had two children, Michael Norsworthy (Shandi) & Kelly Reid Norsworthy (Daniel), two grandchildren, Connor & Sage Norsworthy and two great grandchildren Harlow Elizabeth & Jax Michael. Tom met Jenifer St. Vincent in 1996 and they were married in 2010. Although they didn’t have children, they had seven dogs over the years; Tom loved his dogs! He also loved boating, traveling, coaching little league, playing spades with friends, Frank Sinatra and talking politics. Tom was the founder of Kellan Restaurant Management Inc., which owns and operates 54th Street Restaurants. There are currently 30 locations within the Kansas City, St. Louis, San Antonio, Austin and Dallas Fort Worth area. He was honored with restaurateur of the year in 2005 from the Missouri Restaurant Association. His children, family and friends remember him not only as a driven entrepreneur, but always the life of the party and silently generous but never wanted recognition. He ran the family business for many years and in his retirement, he continued to mentor and guide the restaurants into the success they are today. Tom was a decorated Vietnam Veteran, a father, friend, colleague, and visionary. Tom left a mark on everything he touched and lived his life with nothing but passion and determination. To anyone who had the privilege of knowing Tom, they can attest they broke the mold with him.

He is preceded in death by his brother Jerry, mother Lucille and father Tom.

Tom is survived by his wife Jenifer; his children, Michael & Kelly; ex-wife Ann; grandchildren, Connor, Sage and Shyanne; Connor’s wife Shelby King Norsworthy and great grandchildren, Harlow & Jax of Kansas City, MO. He is also survived by Jenifer’s mom & dad, Joanne St. Vincent, Wayne St. Vincent, wife Patti St. Vincent, brother Christopher St. Vincent and his children Christopher & Kaylynn.

Celebration of life is scheduled for Tuesday, January 16th from 4pm to 7pm at the Original 54th Street off Englewood Rd. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Tom Norsworthy's life.
