

Tommy Savlin, 84, of, Kansas City, MO, passed away May 7, 2014. Funeral service will be 2pm Monday, May 12, 2014 at White Chapel Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Pauline Savlin; brother, Joseph “Jack” Savlin, Jr.; 2 sisters, Evelyn Yurkovich and Dixie Hoffman; and son, Bruce Savlin. Survivors include his loving wife, Peggy Savlin of the home; son, Dennis Savlin and wife Karen; 3 grandchildren, Kellie, Shawn and Kimberly; 8 great-grandchildren, Jerry, Kenny, Zack, Savannah, Rae Anne, Aaron, Hunter and Cody, the oldest; nephews, Danny Yurkovich and Terry Savlin; and Aunt Alice Savlin. Tommy was a veteran of the Korean War, where he was honorably discharged. He received accommodations for his service and a letter of appreciation from the Korean government. He worked and retired from the Burlington Northern Railroad as an engineer. Tommy will be remembered as good, loving and patient husband; father to his boys in their school activities. Tommy was a scout leader and enjoyed many great vacations with his family. He was a loving father-in-law to Karen, who he took into his family and made her his daughter in every way. He was a loving grandfather and great-grandfather. Tommy will be remembered as a great friend to everyone who knew him and was always ready to help a friend of his family.
