

Warren was born on November 1, 1947, in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated from East High School, proudly served in the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran. Following his military service, he worked at the Kansas City Star. Later, Warren worked at the Ford Motor Company in Claycomo, Missouri for 31 years before retiring in 2009.
Warren cherished the time spent with his family and friends. He had a deep appreciation for music and enjoyed attending concerts and live performances with his wife Nona.
Warren is survived by his son, Charles Friend, his stepdaughter, Denise Burnett, stepson, Johnny Webb; two brothers, Phillip Friend and wife Ann and Edwin (Tink) Friend. Warren also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Athena, Charles, Faith, Trew, Michael, Hope Friend,and Jonathan Woodrome; four great grandchildren, Toby and Emma Strope, Prestyn and Liam Woodrome; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nona Friend; his mother, Pearl Sanders; his father, Harold Friend; and stepfather, Harry David Sanders; one brother, Larry Friend; one sister, Beverly Ellison; two stepbrothers, Kenneth Sanders and David (Bud) Sanders; and one stepsister, Nellie Carpenter.
Warren will be remembered for his kindness, his love of music, and dedication to his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Road, Gladstone, Missouri, 64119, with visitation one hour prior to the service starting at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow the service in the White Chapel Cemetery.
