He was born on November on November 5, 1944, in Little Rock, Arkansas Jeanie and Wayne Berry, Sr. He graduated from University of Tulsa in 1967 with a degree in Business and Marketing.
Wayne married his second wife, Mildred, in 1974, and moved to Smithville, Missouri where he lived until his death.
Wayne was an avid fisherman, hunter, and sports fan. He retired after 30+ years as an over the road auto and machinery hauler.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Jeanie and Wayne Berry, Sr.; his brother, Rodney Berry both of Little Rock, Arkansas; and his second wife, Mildred Berry of Smithville, Missouri.
He is survived by his only daughter, Christina Berry of Katy, Texas, and her children, Carrington Smurl of Austin, Texas and Graham Smurl of Katy, Texas; and first wife, Kay Berry of Katy, Texas.
The family would like to thank the University of Kansas Medical Center, St. Luke’s Hospice House for their care. Also special thanks to his neighbors in all their support.
In lieu of flowers, memorials donations may be sent to the Humane Society, ASPCA, or any animal rescue center of the donor’s choice.
There will not be a service in Smithville, Missouri. There will be a private family memorial service at Memorial Gardens in Little Rock, Arkansas at a later date.
