William Nim Barfield, 89, of Decatur, GA passed away Wed. May 6, 2015. Bill was born in Sunnyside, GA Feb. 17, 1926 to Mary M. and Kenneth A. Barfield who preceded him in death. After high school graduation he served during WWII in the Army. Upon returning home he attended and graduated from the University of Mississippi and went to work for BOP in Atlanta. His job brought him to KC where he met and married his wife of 60 years, Arlene Donaldson Barfield who passed in April 2012. In the 1950’s the two returned to Decatur, GA where Bill retired from the FAA in 1984. Bill was also preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth A. Barfield. Survivors include his loving sister-in-law, LaGreta Donaldson Taul; 1 niece and 3 nephews. He will be laid to rest in Gladstone, MO next to his wife.
