I met Sandra  many years ago at  a suburban women's Lib meeting when women were just finding their voice. Memories include celebrating  her 40th birthday in Manhattan. We had some fun times in Manchester Mass . I do miss her. I considered her a good friend  for many years.

We met Sandra when her mother, Willa Carrington Henderson Died and she came to Jacksonville to handle her mother's estate.  We found Sandra to be a loving, caring  person will complete faith in God.  We became friends and communicated regularly .. We are sadden to learn that she passed away so long ago, but we know that Sandra is walking with God on a journey well deserved. It was a privilege to have had Sandra walk with me during thoughtful discussions with the Glastonbury MLK Community Initiative.  Through her quiet demeanor she taught me the grace of choosing words that brought dignity to the conversation.  As a leader of a spriual discussion group she brought thoughtful insights of her deep faith and the value of listening.

The Glastonbury League of Women Voters mourns the loss of our member, Sandra Henderson.  We will miss her warmth, intelligence, her humor and thoughtful guidance, her ready contribution from many sources, and her graceful presence. Thank you, Sandra.

I've crossed paths with Sandra on different fronts over the last 15 years.  We've shared many inspirations and explored many ideas together that we thought were important.  I've appreciated her intellectual capacity and thoughtful perspectives.  After 9/11, we both felt there was a need to learn more about the US role in foreign affairs, and together we started the Great Decisions Group in Glastonbury, giving other folks who shared this interest the opportunity to examine such issues together.  It will be very difficult to replace what she brought to the group.   It was just too soon for this, Sandra.  I'll miss yu very much.

I got to now Sandra at our Great Decisions meetings. She was always in the discussions and added her own perspective to help us understand the topics. I will miss her at our meetings although I will be reminded of her and will ask myself; What would Sandra say about this? We will all miss her and I hope her family finds comfort in knowing that she added so much to our group.
