For many years, Rose told me stories about her childhood, her jobs, her favorite Hungarian foods, and her family.  Last year, her memory was fading.  So, it was my turn to tell Rose the stories that she had told me so many times.  Usually she would remember; other times she listened attentively, wanting to know more about her past and who she was. 
Rose gave me advice.  She said that I should never get old.   I told her that I would do my best. Then, we would both laugh.  
Neither one of us was a good singer, but in December, we would sing Christmas carols together.  Her favorite was Silent Night.
For many years, her hearing was poor and her eyes were dim.  Rose was content to spend many hours with her thoughts and daydreams.  
In September, she told me that she hoped to die peacefully in her sleep, but that she didn't want to go, yet.
Rose was always thoughtful and considerate.  
She never complained. 
Her strong faith guided her life.  
Rose aged gracefully.
Farewell, My Friend, I will miss you.
