She was born in Mexico on January 22, 1938 to the late Francisco and Angela Garcia.
Amelia was preceded in death by her husband Ray Pena on October 12, 2015.
She is survived by three children Ray Pena, Lorenna Duenaz and Angela (Derek) Haddad, son-in-law Jose Juan Ponce, five siblings Eloisa Lizarrga, Santiago Garcia, Ana Aguilar, Blanca Coronado and Jesus Garcia. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
In addition to her parents and husband Amelia was preceded in death by a daughter Anna Ponce.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from 5-8PM at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale. A rosary will be recited at 7:30PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 10AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 5614 W. Orangewood Avenue, Glendale. Burial will take place at 2PM at Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6450 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale.
