Audrey spent a significant portion of her life in Africa, living in both South Africa and Zambia. In 1956, she met and married Chris Botha in Zambia, and they were blessed with a son, Brian, in 1959.
As a schoolgirl at St. Anns Diocesan School in KwaZulu-Natal, RSA, Audrey was very active in sports, excelling in tennis, gymnastics, field hockey—where she represented her province—squash, and golf. In the late 1960s, she was part of the Zambian national golf team that competed against Kenya.
While in Zambia, Audrey was primarily a homemaker but also co-owned a photographic studio for several years, nurturing a lifelong passion for photography. Later, in Durban, RSA, she worked in the magazine publication industry, focusing on distribution.
At the age of 53, Audrey immigrated to the United States in 1985. She began her career in the U.S. working for the Saturday Evening Post in Indianapolis, Indiana, and later for Time Warner in New England. In the latter part of her career, she worked in sales at a resort in Vermont, New England.
Audrey was known for her keen, witty sense of humor and welcoming, amiable personality, truly embodying a "salt of the earth" individual. She cherished the company of her extended family and had a profound interest in history, geography, and travel.
A woman of strong, quiet Christian faith, Audrey was a committed follower of Jesus Christ, having grown up in the traditions of the Anglican denomination. She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
