82 of Glendale, AZ, was reunited with her Lord God on December 17, 2010. She was with family at Hospice of Arizona Plaza Del Rio Facility in Peoria. This place became a favorite for her in her last days due to the visits to her window from rabbits, quail, doves and other wildlife. She is survived by her sister, Joanne Bonham, sister-in-laws, Donna Branum, Donna and Elena Countryman; and her three sons, Joel, Gary and Richard and their families. Betty met her husband Richard while attending the University of AZ in Tucson while she was studying to become a veterinarian. They were married in Tucson and came to live in Casa Grande where her mother, sister, and brother and their families resided. In 1961, the Countryman family moved to Glendale and have lived there to this day. Good lifelong friends were made in the neighborhood, through the Boy Scouts, Rose Society and will always be treasured. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 11 a.m. at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Ave., Glendale. Interment to follow for private prayer and reflection.
