Billy Jay Jones

He is survived by his daughters, Vickie (Jim), and Sandra (Deryck) six grandchildren, Jaysen (Lauren), Janelle (Louie), Jenny, Chris (Jill), Dylan (Wendy), Jasmine, and twelve great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella, and son Daniel.

While stationed at Davis Monthan Air Base he met and married Stella in 1955. They enjoyed 63 years of marriage before her passing. After many tours of duty, traveling the world and amazing stories to tell they returned to Arizona. He continued to work in the field of aeronautics, with the stealth bomber, C-5 and the Super Guppy. He went on to work and retire from NASA, Johnson Space Center with the shuttle program. Finally, retiring from work, he enjoyed traveling with his wife, chili cookouts, and spending time with family.

He was active in many fraternal organizations. He pridefully served in the honor guard of American Legion post 29.

He will be forever in our hearts.

A visitation for Billy will be held Sunday, April 7, 2024 from 14:00 to 15:00 at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 West Northern Ave, Glendale, Arizona 85301. A funeral services will occur Sunday, April 7, 2024 at 15:00, 6450 West Northern Ave, Glendale, Arizona 85301. A committal service with full military honors will occur Monday, April 8, 2024 at 14:00 at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, Arizona 85029.
