He served in the U.S. Army for four years and was active U. S. Army Reserves for eight years. He is a member of American Legion Post 41.
Chencho was an employee of City of Phoenix Public Works Department for 33 years, climbing the ladder from Solid Waste Laborer to Solid Waste Supervisor. He was an avid Arizona sports teams fan including the Cardinals, Diamondbacks, Phoenix Suns, and Arizona State University. He also coached little league senior baseball for many years at Justine Spitalny (Orioles) and Zito (Braves) elementary schools.
He loved fishing and roughing it in the woods. He took his family to almost every lake and campground in the state of Arizona. He especially loved spending time in Southern California and Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico, deep-sea fishing or just fishing off the piers and shores.
Chencho is preceded in death by son, Stephen Matthew Vidaure, his parents, Carmen and Eulalio Vidaure, a great-great granddaughter, Layla Love Miranda, and many brothers and sisters, nieces, and nephews.
Chencho is survived by his wife Beatrice U. Swayzee; children Susan (Michael) Aguire, Stephanie (Tim) Daniels, Nicholas (Nicole) Bribiescas, Shelley (Jeff) Pomeroy, Michael Cornwell, Vangie (Joe) Fierro, John (Sheri) Escarcega, Mark (Vivian) Escarcega, Richard (Jody) Escarcega, Alex (Dawn) Escarcega, Ernie (Christina) Escarcega, sisters Theresa Ortega and Petra Montes; and 35 grandchildren, 63 great grandchildren, 14 great-great grandchildren, and two more great-great grandchildren on the way.
