Cruz Z. Rojas, age 89, passed away on December 23, 2021. She was born in Kyrene, Arizona, on May 3, 1932, to Gabino and Trinidad Carbajal. Cruz was one of ten children. She spent her entire life in Arizona with her family. Cruz was employed as a bilingual directory operator for US West. First and foremost, Cruz was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, sister and wife.
On August 4, 1974, Cruz married Rigoberto Rojas, sharing 47 years of their lives together. She is survived by her husband Rigoberto, two sons from her prior marriage, Ernest (Adelina) Bustamante and Daniel Bustamante; three grandchildren, Daniel, Steven and Nicholas Bustamante; and four siblings, Margaret Madina, Trinidad Perez, Gabino Carbajal and Inez Martinez.
Cruz cherished her family and never missed an opportunity to tell her sons how proud she was of them. She and Rigoberoto also took great joy and purpose in watching Daniel, Steven and Nicholas grow up. Her grandsons’ lives are filled with memories of long walks in the Flagstaff forest as children and summertime barbeques outside her home. Cruz always showed her family how much she cared for them. They are forever thankful for the indelible mark she left in molding them. Her sons and grandsons are grateful for her constant unconditional love and the unique relationship each had with her. She will be forever missed.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Monday, January 10, 2022, from 12PM-1PM at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale. Funeral services will begin at 1PM. Burial will follow in Resthaven Park Cemetery.
