Dale Norman Armstrong, 70, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away peacefully at home on October 14, 2025, surrounded by family. Born at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California, Dale was the son of Lowell Norman Armstrong and Merilyn Elsie Watrous.
A graduate of Ottawa University and Multnomah University, Dale earned bachelor’s degrees in Biblical Studies and Information Technology Systems. He worked in IT for Aramark, Mattel, Catholic Healthcare West, and Wycliffe Bible Translators, and served faithfully as a deacon and elder at Trinity Bible Church.
Dale was known for his deep faith, generous heart, and love of family. He enjoyed boating on Lake Powell, vacationing in Pinetop, reading, playing board games, and sharing his musical gifts on the piano, accordion, and clarinet. A foster and adoptive father, Dale’s quiet strength and steadfast spirit touched all who knew him.
Those closest to him will forever remember his constant humming and affectionate “bear hugs,” a reflection of his larger-than-life presence and his fondness for bears. He is survived by his wife, Janice; three siblings; nine children; and seventeen grandchildren.
A celebration of Dale’s life will be held at Trinity Bible Church on November 8th, 2025, at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wycliffe Bible Translators.
