Darlene Annette Metz (Loe), age 89, an Arizona native who was born in Chandler in 1936, has been called home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She is predeceased by her loving husband, William Leslie Metz, after 51 years of marriage. She is survived by her son, David Metz (Debbie) and daughter Kelly Metz, grandchildren Christopher Metz (Megan) and Tiffany Cervantez (Nick), sister Julie Loe, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Darlene has loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ since accepting Him into her heart as a small child. She has been an active Christian, serving her Lord as He led her into many ministries of service to others. She took seriously the commandment by Jesus to love others ahead of herself which she put into practice on a daily basis. As a result, she was generous with her time and resources toward others, even when it was inconvenient and often beyond her means.
Her career choices also centered around loving and caring for others. She was employed by several care agencies beginning as a church secretary, working for a hospital in managing volunteers, serving as office manager for multiple caregiving housing complexes and working for a local non-profit service provider to those with disabilities. Darlene sought to make a difference in the lives of others.
Darlene’s family brought her much joy. She was surrounded by those who loved her and learned to pass this on in her life.
