

David is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Lee Ann Deahl, and their children Gina (Roger) Standish, Angel (George) Ballard, John (Makenna) Crawford Jr., Jeffery Crawford, and James Crawford. In addition to his children, he is also survived by his grandchildren Russell, Samantha, Alexa, and Georgia, as well as his mother-in-law Shirley Auld, along with his many nieces and nephews. David will also be missed by his much-loved family pets, Bella and Honey.
In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his late son John Crawford Sr., as well as his sisters Carol Alhert, Marilyn Smith, and his father-in-law Leslie Auld.
David quickly became a friend to everyone he met and was known to enjoy a game of pool or playing cards with friends and family. He was also a fan of the simple things in life and loved sitting in the sun poolside. He was an avid sports fan, rooting for teams like the Chicago Cubs, the Blackhawks, and the Bulls. David was proud to be a part of the American Legion, the VFW, and regularly gathered with other members of the Moose Lodge.
David bravely served his country in Vietnam as a member of the United States Air force and later served as a police officer until he finished his career experiences as a fleet sales manager with Ford.
David was surrounded by family during his last days. A special thanks to Carol for taking care of his home and dogs while the family was with him in Phoenix. Tom and Kristie Benjamin provided a home close to the hospital in which the family could gather and rest. Three nurses at Banner provided exceptional care for David and his family, Sydney, Isabelle, and Eve. Each of these people's support and care brought much comfort to David and his family.
Services for David are as follows: Memorial Service held at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Thursday, April 11, 2024 12:00pm. A luncheon will follow at the American Legion Post 14 in Kingman.
Celebration of Life will be held at the Tinley Park American Legion on Friday, May 3, 2024; 17423 67th Court in Tinley Park, Illinois. Services will begin with a Color Guard Service at 2:00pm.
Per the family's request please come to the celebration of life in your favorite Bears or Cubs attire, this would make Dave smile!
