Dennis E. McNamara, a beloved and kind-hearted soul, passed away on August 8, 2025, at the age of 64. Born on April 18, 1961, in Stoughton, Massachusetts, Dennis grew up between California and Hawaii, as his father was in the Navy. He attended elementary school in Alameda, California, and completed his high school education at Radford High School in Honolulu, Hawaii. Once his father retired from the Navy, the family settled in Idaho. Dennis later pursued an Associate's degree in Welding Inspection at Eastern Idaho Technical College.
Dennis's career began at Thikol in Utah, where he inspected portions of the space shuttle. His work took him to various places, including Salt Lake City, Utah, and Cincinnati, Ohio, before he eventually settled in Phoenix, Arizona. There, he continued his work with local inspection companies until his retirement in 2023.
Family was of utmost importance to Dennis. He was a very proud uncle who loved spoiling his nieces and nephews. Dennis shared a close bond with his brother Ken, always looking out for one another. He was the family one in the family who kept everyone connected, ensuring that he stayed in touch with all relatives, even the distant ones.
Dennis had a passion for bald eagles, collecting figurines and paintings of them throughout his life. His work allowed him to travel frequently, and he cherished visits to his brother in Hawaii.
In his community, Dennis was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous, having proudly collected his 23-year sobriety chip this past year. He was committed to his recovery journey, never experiencing a relapse after seeking help.
Dennis will be greatly missed and was dearly loved by his family and friends. He is survived by his brother, Ken McNamara (Juli McNamara), his nephew, Josh Williams, and many other friends and family members. He was predeceased by his father, Don McNamara, his mother, Patricia McNamara, and his nephew, Travis Williams.
