He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1955 and served as a Military Policeman in Germany until his honorable discharge in 1957. He began his career in electronics in Massachusetts and followed opportunities in that industry to various locations including California, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Phoenix Arizona, where he ultimately retired.
Don’s first love was his family, followed by his lifelong enjoyment of camping. The combination of those two things provided him with immeasurable pleasure.
Don leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Leonita; two daughters, Darla and Pamela; one son, Bill, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of Phoenix. He was predeceased by his youngest daughter Lori in 2002.
Services will be small and private. At a later date, his ashes will be scattered at his favorite spot along the Oregon coastline.
