Doris Clara Salmon

Doris Clara Salmon passed away on January 26, 2023, just 9 days after her 101st birthday. She was born on January 17, 1922, the oldest of six children born to the late Farrel & Clara Robinson. Doris was born in Minot, North Dakota. She met her husband of 71 years, Vernon Franklin Salmon, at a dance class in Oakland, California in 1948. Vernon had just moved to Oakland from Memphis. They married that year on August 28, 1948. Vernon passed away on January 19, 2020. Doris and Vernon moved to Arizona in 1965 and moved to Prosser, Washington three years later before returning to Arizona in 1973. She is survived by three children Judy (Bob Shields) O’Clair, Linda (Gerald) Christophel & Vernon (Brenda) Salmon, Jr., four grandchildren Shelly Brewer, Robert Bovee, Kim Clark & Brandon Salmon, six great-grandchildren Ryan Shields, Justin Shields, Danny Brewer, Nick Brewer, Erik Bovee & Alice Bovee and three great-great-grandchildren Noah, Audree & Eli. In addition to her husband and parents, her five siblings preceded Doris. Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Monday, February 6, 2023, at 1 pm at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale. Graveside services will begin at 2 PM at Resthaven Park Cemetery.
