

93 and 5/6 years old. Born in Tipton County, Indiana on January 24, 1920 to Fay and Jennie Shockley, and passed away on December 7, 2013, in Phoenix, AZ. Mike grew up on a farm in Indiana with five brothers and sisters. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II, Pacific Theatre Operations and participated in seven campaigns. Mike owned and operated a milk route in central Indiana before moving to Arizona in 1955, retiring in 1976 from Luke Air Force Base. Mike was an avid fisherman, spending six months each year deep sea fishing in Guymas, Mexico, restored tractors, and was a lover of all things John Deere, and he created patio art using wood and metal. He served as an Elder and teacher in several independent Christian Churches. Preceded in death by his wife Rheba, his parents, one brother, and two sisters. Survived by his children, Marc (MaryAnn), and Jane Hoyle (Skip), his grandchildren, David Shockley (Richelle), Thomas Shockley, Elizabeth Frear (Justin), Emily Woznicki (Joshua), Katy Hoyle, nine great-grandchildren, two great great-grandchildren, his brother,Fay Junior Shockley (Pat), his sister, Marilyn Welliver, and several adorable nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life will be Saturday, December 21, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at Desert Christian Fellowship 1445 W. Northern Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85021.
