Hector was born on February 8 1919 to Cruz and Lorenza Cervantes. Hector is preceded in death by his parents, several brothers and sisters, by his wife Socorro Cervantes, a son and a daughter, Rosie and James Cervantes.
He is survived by his current wife, Carolina G Cervantes, four children: Josephine, Hector Jr, Francisco , and Adeline. He also leaves behind many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Hector is an army veteran of WWII. He proudly served served as a combat infantry man in the New Guinea and Philippine liberation. Also in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater in which he belonged to the 158th infantry-Bushmasters. Hector earned many medals while proudly serving. Including the Purple Heart.
After the war Hector returned to his family. He acquired a job in the Morenci, AZ mine where he worked until his retirement as a heavy haul truck driver.
He enjoyed a long and peaceful retirement. He loved to be around family and friends. Hector was a great father and the worlds best grandfather. Hector will be greatly missed by his family and friends. We all loved him very much. As grandpa would say okie dokie!!!
