

Helen Gale (Liveoak) Dyer was born February 24, 1947, in Sylacauga, Alabama, to parents Leonard Liveoak and Helen (Varner) Liveoak. She is the oldest of four children. She lived with her family in Sylacauga until she was approximately eight years old. After her mother married Floyd Osbourn, the family moved west seeking other employment. The family lived in several locations in Texas and New Mexico, finally settling in Artesia, New Mexico. Gale attended St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing, successfully completing the training and obtaining her nursing degree and license as a practical nurse in 1966. Gale worked for several doctors in Artesia at the hospital and the nursing home.
In October 1977, Gale married Earl Dyer. Shortly after their marriage, they relocated to East Texas and resided there for six years. Gale and her husband moved to the Phoenix area in May of 1985.
Helen Gale Dyer peacefully passed away at 2:34 PM on April 17, 2025, with her family present. She is preceded in death by her mother, Helen Osbourn, and brother Kenneth. She is survived by Earl Dyer, her husband of 47 and a half years. Son Scott McIntosh and his wife Karen. Daughter Leilani Walker and her husband Jeff, and grandson Justin Walker. Grandson Joshua Dyer and wife Casey, great-grandsons Zeke, Zane, and Archer Dyer. Granddaughter Ciera Osborn and her husband, Rob. Granddaughter Tyler McIntosh and her fiancée Eric, great-granddaughter Mia McIntosh. Grandson Preston McIntosh and fiancée Rachel. Brother Leonard Liveoak and his wife Debra. Sister Tajuana Spier and her husband, Don, and many other family members and friends.
Gale was an amazing person and will be greatly missed.
A memorial service for Helen Dyer will be held on Saturday, May 17th, 2025 at 1pm at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, located at 7924 North 59th Ave, Glendale, Arizona 85301.
