Jack Dwayne Thompson

74, of Peoria, Arizona joined the Lord August 10th, 2011 surrounded by family and friends. He was born September 14th, 1936 in Tipton, Oklahoma, He graduated from Chickasha High School and attended the University of Oklahoma where he studied Architectural Design before joining the US Army where he received marksmanship honors. After completing his military service he was employed as a Union Carpenter before moving to Arizona in 1957 to become a General Contractor. Jack retired as the General Manager from Markland Properties where he established multiple housing developments throughout the valley, including master planned communities Scottsdale Ranch and Gainey Ranch. Jack enjoyed many hobbies including, Hunting, Fishing, and Boating. He was recognized in the Thoroughbred Racing Industry as an accomplished Owner and Breeder. He attained the highest distinction within the Thoroughbred Industry in Breeding a Grade 1 Stakes Winner. He is survived by his wife Connie and daughter Debbie Leto; sons and daughter-in-laws, Rick and Sheline Thompson and John and Kimberly Thompson of Peoria, AZ; sons Tom and Jerry of Peoria, AZ and sister June Williams & brother-in-law Carl Williams of Lawton, OK; grandchildren Tanya Burke and her husband Joseph Burke, Tiffany Thompson, Jason and Heather Leto, Jacqueline, John Tyler and Blake Thompson, of Peoria, AZ.
