James Dean "Jim" Long, born March 7, 1956 in San Diego, California, received a call from the Lord to come home on 30 May, 2021. He leaves behind wife of 38 years Frances, their daughter Adrianna, and from his previous marriage, daughter Jamie, who is unfortunately estranged.
Jim, an only child, grew up in Lynnwood, Washington, a suburb of Seattle. He was raised by his mother, grandparents, and aunt. After a very brief enlistment in the Air Force, Jim headed to Phoenix, Arizona in the late 1970s to attend school. He soon married his first wife and had Jamie. Jim and Frances married in 1983. Ultimately, they settled in West Phoenix to raise their daughter Adrianna.
He was a dedicated husband, father, and over 20 year employee of Boeing. Nothing excited him more than a huge stack of science fiction and history books, Seattle Seahawks games, and his cat Harley.
Niece Jennifer Simpson states, "Jim was always proof that dads can stay, dads can teach, dads can love, and dads can be faithful and good." He will be dearly missed.
