Wolfe, Jeanne M. Jeanne Marie Wolfe joined our Lord on March 3, 2015 at age 88. Predeceased by John, her husband of 54 years in May 2010, Jeanne is survived by children Jeanne, John, twins Jill/Jim and Joy; 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Siblings include Sr. Arliss Sheeley SSND (dec), Arlene Baker (Canada) and James Sheeley (Minnesota). Born on September 27th, 1926 in Chippewa Falls, WI to Howard and Mary Sheeley. Despite Depression era poverty hardships, Jeanne graduated Summa Cum Laude from Wisconsin State Teachers' College, subsequently pursuing a Master's degree from the University of WA. She married her life-long love, John Wolfe (Jack) after college in 1946. Jack served 27 years in the Air Force, during which they raised 5 children and relocated to over a dozen locations around the globe, including Africa, Germany and Puerto Rico. Jeanne taught elementary school with particular distinction in special education. She was a lover of history, a fan of impressionist art, an aficionado of egg and cake decoration and a fantastic jitterbug dancer. In 1970, the Wolfe family settled in Phoenix. Jeanne was a devout Catholic and was exceptionally active in St Louis the King parish. This passion was matched only by her dedication to her family's spiritual and intellectual development. After Jack's death in 2010, Jeanne became an active member of the Beatitudes retirement community in Phoenix, fully immersing herself in Mahjong, Cards, Opera and Casino visits and sing-along sessions with her many friends. She made people feel welcomed and valued, regardless of their personal circumstances, race, creed or abilities. Her compassion and humor shall be greatly missed. Services scheduled March 10th at St. Louis the King Church (4331 West Maryland Ave, Glendale AZ): Rosary - 9 am, Mass - 10 am, Burial -12:30 at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona (23029 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix).
