

Left behind, his wife Cynthia Grimes; 3 sons Brian, Andrew, and Erik Grimes; 3 grandchildren, Brayden, Makayla, and Kaydence Grimes; and many close friends.
Born and raised in Huntington, IN, son of Janice and John Grimes. He was a resident of Phoenix, AZ and frequent visitor of his home town.
In his younger years, Jimmie, was the youngest of 4 siblings; Jaryl, Judy and Janifer. He attended and graduated from Huntington High school in 1969 before signing up for the United States Army in where he served for 9 years. He dedicated his Military career to helping and healing soldiers as a medic and was directly related to saving the life of a fellow soldier, and military police officer.
After his time served in the Army, he returned to Huntington and worked at Huntington Hospital where he met his wife to be, Cynthia Stonebraker, and in 1977 were married. In 1980 his first son was born, Brian, and in 1981 his second son was born. Shortly after the birth of his third son, Erik 1984, Jimmie and family moved to Arizona to make a new start.
Jimmie was a dedicated father and husband, business owner, and selfless individual. During his time, Jimmie was the owner of an Heating/Air Condition company called Gold Star where he successfully co-owned the company and drove job growth, profit, integrity and honesty as a staple of the company. He followed this to pursue a teaching career at RSI where he helped train HVAC technicians.
During his off hours, he dedicated his time to playing basketball with his kids every day after they got back from school and even coached basketball community teams for them. He listened to their problems and did the best that he could to guide them through life to be self-sufficient and good people. Jimmie was a selfless husband, and did everything he could to be as helpful and reliable to his wife.
Jimmie was a passionate golfer. Golf was he truest passion in life after his family. His fondest memories he would look back on was his time at Etna Acres, Gene Hoffman and family, and the course. He would spend the summers in Huntington and work on the golf course every day, and did it with pride. He was a father to many of his kid’s friends, and fond memories of Mario Kart, basketball, and 007 will always reside within them all.
Jimmie was Cremated on May 12th in Phoenix with a small memorial to be held privately.
