30 September, 1985 – 21 September, 2025
IN THE CARE OF

West Resthaven Funeral Home & Resthaven Park Cemetery

Joshua John Alexander was born on 30 September 1985 in Rockville, Maryland and unexpectedly transitioned in Phoenix, Arizona on 21 September 2025. Adopted at birth, he was raised by Dr. Jan Northup and Dr. John Alexander. Josh maintained periodic contact with his birthmother, Ms. Toni French, and many of his biological relatives. A complex and thoughtful young man, following graduation from Thunderbird High School in Glendale, Arizona, he served briefly in the U.S. Army. At Ft. Benning, Georgia he earned his parachute wings. For several years he drove over-the-road trucks hauling loads across the entire country. It was with great pride he was able to acquire his own truck. He had several disparate groups of friends who will miss him, especially Ms. Lindsay Stephen.

Josh was preceded in death by his mother, Dr. Jan Northup-Easterly, his maternal grandmother, Marcine Harrington, his grandmother and grandfather, Joyce and Phillip French, and is survived by his father Dr. John Alexander of Las Vegas, NV; stepfather Don W. Easterly of Phoenix; uncles Wayne (Marilyn) Harrington of Lebanon, MO, and Jim (Dot) Harrington of Ottumwa, IA; aunts Jayne (Randy) Schweitzer of Hedrick, IA, Dottie (Bruce) Woodard of Ottumwa, IA; birthmother Toni French (and her family who had the honor to be part of Joshua's life), uncle Todd (Julie) French of Edgewater, MD, aunt Traci French (Fidel) Castellanos of Hagerstown, MD, cousins Nathan French, Sarah Pearl French and children, Matthew French, Damon Martin, Brandon (Lauren) Martin and children, Holli Martin, Heidi Martin, and Jeremiah Carter.
