Joyce Colleen Valenzuela, at age 85, passed away October 28, 2024 in Sun City, AZ. She was born August 19, 1939 to Harry Finn and Mary Long in Bergholz, Ohio. She married the love of her life, Tony Valenzuela, on October 9, 1948.
Joyce is survived by her brother David Finn; her sister Ellen Finn; her children: Tony Valenzuela II, Harry Valenzuela, Daniel Valenzuela, Christina Porter, and Teresa Valenzuela; her grandchildren: Megan Pocock, Jackie Humelhans, Melissa Tabor, Zachary White, Brittany King, and Carson Wilt as well as a host of great grandchildren, nephews, and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her siblings: Leonard, Harry, Jr., Elizabeth (Betty), Thelma (Dolly), Neaurn (Pat), Edward, Wayne (Mick), Brynhilda (Mary), Gary, Darla, and William.
Joyce was first and foremost a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother with a heart that knew no boundaries for her family and friends. While she was a formally trained flight attendant, the Lord had another calling for her; she and Tony would settle in Phoenix, Arizona to raise their family, and as their children grew older, Joyce worked a variety of jobs to keep herself busy then later to help ends meet after Tony’s passing. Joyce was well known for her love of movies, shopping, card games, puzzles and everything Christmas. A foodie at heart, as evidenced by her bulging fridge, freezer and pantry, one was guaranteed to never leave her home hungry. Her love, generosity and spirit will remain in our hearts forever.
Please send flowers to the Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary at 7924 N 59th Avenue, Glendale, AZ 85031, or consider making a donation in Joyce’s honor to the Arizona Humane Society at https://www.azhumane.org/
