It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kristy "Kris" Bravo, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, who left this world on May 31, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on December 14, 1954, in Garden City, Michigan, Kris was a radiant light in the lives of those who knew her, embodying love, laughter, and an unwavering faith in Jesus.
Kris was the cherished daughter of Eric and Dona Sandin, who preceded her in death. Growing up in a nurturing household, her parents instilled in her the values of kindness, perseverance, and the importance of education—a belief she carried throughout her life. She was the proud sister of Gregory and Glen Sandin, and their bond was one filled with laughter and shared memories, creating a family tapestry woven with love and support.
In 1989, Kris embarked on a beautiful journey of love when she married Alfredo "Fred" Bravo in Las Vegas. Their union was a testament to the power of companionship, as they shared a life filled with joy, respect, and mutual admiration. Together, they raised a family that thrived under Kris’s nurturing spirit. She is survived by her loving husband, Fred, and her wonderful child, Felicia Bravo, as well as her two brothers, Gregory and Glen Sandin, who carry her legacy of love and resilience.
Kris was not only a devoted family member but also a passionate educator. With a Master’s in Education, she dedicated 30 years of her life to teaching, inspiring countless students to discover the joy of learning. Her infectious sense of humor made her classroom a warm and welcoming place, where children felt valued and encouraged to explore their potential.
In addition to her dedication to her students, Kris had a wide range of hobbies that brought her joy. She loved solving puzzles, often finding them a delightful challenge that engaged her mind. Additionally, she had a profound appreciation for nature, frequently spending hours watching animal videos, captivated by the beauty and intricacy of the natural world.
Kris faced her final battle with colon cancer with the same grace and strength that characterized her life. Even in her most challenging moments, she remained a beacon of hope and positivity, demonstrating her incredible spirit. Her faith in Jesus was a source of comfort and strength, guiding her through life’s trials and inspiring those around her.
As we remember Kris, we celebrate her life as a tapestry of love, laughter, and unwavering faith. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, as they cherish the memories of a woman who was as kind as she was strong. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever shine brightly in the lives she touched.
No memorial service will be held for Kris Bravo. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to a cancer research organization in Kris’s name, continuing her fight against this disease and supporting others who face similar battles.
Rest in peace, dear Kris. Your light will continue to shine in the hearts of those who loved you.
