LeRoy Norman Kading, age 83, from Phoenix, Arizona has passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023. He was born on November 6, 1939 to Ralph and Bernice(Bolin) in Sioux City, Iowa. He graduated in 1958 from East High School and then joined the Navy, serving his country from 1959-1962. After the service he worked at the Sioux City Newspaper. LeRoy met and married Shirley Brink, a nurse on April 10, 1965. They has three children, Brenda Lee, Dennis William and Kenneth LeRoy. Sadly Kenneth passed at birth.
In 1972, the family moved to Phoenix, Arizona. LeRoy took as job at the Republic and Gazette Newspaper as a pressman. He retired from the newspaper business in 2000. In 2001, they acquired land and placed a manufactured home on it. LeRoy enjoyed landscaping and gardening his new yard. He liked to spend time outdoors, fishing and camping. Every year he would travel to Lake Havasu for the HEK family reunion, an annual event since 1972. He loved singing karaoke, his favorite song being "Ring of Fire" by Johnny Cash.
LeRoy is survived by daughter Brenda Lee (Harry); son Dennis William (Stacy);
3 brothers Glen, Gene, and Dick; Grandchildren Jeanette, Megan, Melissa, Ashley, Jacqueline, Brittany, Emily, Johnathon; Great Grandchildren Brenndan, Brayden, Kamon, Addison, Peyton, Kason, Aria, Olivia and Bella. He will be missed by many family and friends.
A visitation for Leroy will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2023 from 5:00pm at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, 7924 North 59th Ave, Glendale, Arizona. A funeral service will held Thursday, November 9, 2023 from 10:30am at 7924 North 59th Ave, Glendale, Arizona. A graveside service will follow at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix, Arizona.
