

Born in Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes on December 1, 1941 to Longino Ruiz and Maria de Jesus Gonzalez. He built a life grounded in love, hard work, and family. He was a devoted husband to his late wife Maria Guadalupe, with whom he shared many cherished years. Together, they raised a beautiful family that now carries forward his warmth, strength, and values.
Longino is survived by his children: Karla and her husband Leon del Rio, Claudia Ruiz and her husband Robert Schroeder, and Jaime and his wife Jamie Ruiz. He also leaves behind his adored grandchildren: Xenia, Jazmin, Janice and her husband Simon Ngo, Celeste, and Jaime Jr. His legacy continues through his beloved great-grandchildren: Emma, Araceli, Damian, and Emilia.
He is also survived by his five sisters and one brother, along with many nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly for his kindness, unconditional love and unwavering support.
A dedicated family man, Longino was known for his generous spirit and willingness to help anyone in need. He was a hardworking man who found joy in life’s simple pleasures — especially enjoying his favorite snack, a concha with coffee or milk. After retiring, he found deep fulfillment in helping raise his grandchildren and rarely missed a sports game. A lifelong fan of baseball, he proudly cheered for the LA Dodgers, no matter the season.
Longino’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A memorial gathering to celebrate his life will be held on Monday, October 6, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W Northern Ave, Glendale, AZ. A graveside committal service will follow at 12:00 PM at Resthaven Park Cemetery.
