My much-loved sister, Lynn Joyce Wegesser (nee DeHart) passed away in the early morning hours of December 21, 2025. She had been battling dementia for several years and had lived with my husband and I for 5 and a half years. She had a wonderful caregiver in Shasta while at home. The last 3 months were at Glencroft where they gave her the care, attention and love that was needed full time.
Lynn was born October 31, 1950, at the Presidio in San Francisco, CA while our father served in Korea-he got to meet her a few months later. She lived in the Phoenix area, graduating from Cortez High School in 1968. Three years later, she decided she wanted to get married to Ron Wegesser so she flew to Reykjavik, Iceland (jet first, then turbo prop) and got married twice in 3 days. Two years after that she gave birth to her only child, Daniel, at Alamogordo AFB in White Sands, NM. After that, it was a base in Rapid City, SD and then off to Europe, Spain and Germany. She lived in Germany for approximately 10 years and visited her favorite city Paris numerous times- she liked the flea market there.
She came back to Phoenix in 1987 along with her son and stayed. She worked different jobs before being hired full time at Norwest Bank where she met Harry Burke, who was to become her boss in HR with Wells Fargo Bank. She always wanted to do her best wherever she worked, but she especially did not want to disappoint Harry. She made a lot of friends where she worked and even though she was ready and looked forward to retirement, she missed everyone.
Lynn was preceded in death by her son Daniel M. Wegesser and parents Gail E. and Doris M. DeHart.
She is survived by my husband and myself -Mike and Kathy Turnbow, her grandson Kyle Matthew Wegesser of UT, our cousin Marie Allen of CO and by her longest standing friend (60+ years) Sue Macpherson of Phoenix and lots of other friends.
Lynn is a Christian and as such, she is with the Lord Jesus Christ and would not come back even if she could. Lynn, I love you and I miss you and I will see you again someday soon. You were/are the best big sister ever!
