Marilyn Kay Buckmaster Beban, born on September 25, 1951, to Vernon Buckmaster and Agnes I. Buckmaster, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 26, after a long and courageous battle with heart disease that began in her early sixties.
Marilyn was a dedicated and successful entrepreneur whose strong work ethic and determination shaped much of her life.
At just twenty-five years old, she began working for her parents’ company, running errands for their parks and learning the family business from the ground up. She devoted several years to the company before her father entrusted her with the care and management of the KOA Campground in 1984, a property he had built with vision and hard work.
Marilyn carried that same vision forward with strength and commitment. In the 1990s, her parents distributed their properties among their children and grandchildren. Marilyn and her sister, Jan, partnered together in business, owning and operating two mobile home parks, one in Tucson and one in Glendale. In time, they each chose to pursue independent ventures.
Marilyn kept Three Fountains Mobile Home Park in Glendale and later expanded her work by purchasing the Holiday Hills property in Globe from her mom, continuing her legacy of entrepreneurship and perseverance. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Marilyn’s greatest pride was her family.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Tina M. Beban Barry, and her four grandchildren: Braden, Alyssa, Davin, and Emmalyn Barry. She is also survived by many beloved extended family members and a host of dear friends whose lives she touched over the years.
Marilyn will be remembered for her strength, her determination, and the loyalty she carried for those she loved. Though she faced health challenges later in life, she met them with resilience. Her legacy lives on in her daughter and grandchildren, and in the many lives shaped by her dedication and unwavering spirit.
She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and joyfully remembered as she rests in the arms of Jesus.
