Hi, mom,

You would be pleased to know all your children were together at least for one day after Christmas this year. Patti, Jo Ann, Tim and Melodie were here from out of town as was your AZ family, Janet, Susie, Jerry and Debi, Gail and Greg, Gary and Laurie, Steve and Carol. Angela and Jeff came with Mckenzie and Micah, Cameron and LeighEllen. The biggest surprise was having Scott show up! We saw Trevor and Ferrin, Joey and Amanda, Jami and Daryl, and Sarah and Ryan made a trip up. It was so much fun having Gena, Chad, Bailey and Alexis (5) here and to watch Alexis play with her cousins, Caleb (8), Aidan (7) and Violet (5). I am sure you are looking down and extremely happy that your family are growing and doing so well!

Mom, I don't know where the last four years went but it seems like yesterday we lost our beautiful mother.  Not a day goes by without thinking about you.  We all missed you greatly on December 27th  when 55 family members and friends gathered at our house to celebrate you and the family.  It was the first time in 4 years all 9 siblings were together.  And we were blessed to have many of our children and grandchildren join us.  Scott surprised Janet and Cameron and Mackenzie came with their spouses (can you believe they are married?!?)  No great grandchildren for me yet, but Jo Ann has her beautiful Lily.  Patti and Gena and her family were here and of course your local grandchildren made it, and Alex was home on leave.  I don't mean to leave anyone out but this would go on forever if I named all 55!  And, of course, we missed those who couldn't join us.  I love and miss you so much.  You are in my heart always! Mom, it's been four years and we still miss you so much. You are in our thoughts and memories which is bittersweet, but still a source of so much joy. I wish you could be here to meet our Lily, your first great great granddaughter, yet I suspect you gave her a kiss for good luck and sent her to us. You'd chuckle at all the owls we have acquired as reminders of  you. Also I think you'd love the fun Gail and I are having with our sea glass designs. For me this began in Bermuda and Gail has a lot of glass from Mexico she shares. We'd make sure you had something in blue to match your eyes. As the years go by we will miss you no less. Dear Mom,

We just passed your 95th birthday on May 26. So much has happened since you left us, but lots of good things too. Gail's two children (Cameron and Mckenzie) got married, Patti's granddaughter (Bailey) graduated junior college. Jo Ann's youngest granddaughter (Shelley) and your youngest granddaughter Leah graduated high school. We met at Minderbinder's recently to help celebrate Leahs 18th birthday. Your daughters had that trip to Bermuda last year, saw the two homes where we lived and made wonderful new memories. The Grace reunion in Sioux Falls in 2015 was terrific for enjoying dads family and our cousins. Life goes on and every day we think of you and dad. We are so grateful of the 91 years you were with us and all the best memories you gave us that keep you in our hearts always.

Happy Mother's Day, Mom. It's hard to believe we said our last goodbye more than three years ago. I think about you and the life you lived almost every day. I know each of us kids have always wanted to make you proud, and we continue to live that way. Even more, I look at the years ahead and want to continue to make you proud. You'd love the sea glass jewelry Gail and I are making. And we are having so much fun with it. This adventure began in Bermuda just like us! I also want to tell you that a great great grandchild is on the way. Sydney and Julian are expecting and due in November. We are so excited. I will keep you posted. Dear Mom, It's been three years since you gently left us. With the same grace you carried each day, you quietly slipped the surly bonds of earth to your heavenly home. Our adopted country always celebrates Mother's Day on May 10th, which was also the the original due date for Angela's arrival, but she chose to wait until the 14th, which was Mother's Day that year. Happy Easter, Mom! I'm sure you are surrounded by the joy of what today really means. You may not have always had it easy, but along the way you were greatly blessed. We  have been sharing memories today about how you and Dad met in Sarasota and went to Mass on Easter Sunday in 1944. Also that Dad left us on an Easter Sunday in 1991. Yes, we miss you both very much today. We love and miss you as much as ever. Rest in Peace, Mom and Dad.

To our beautiful Mom. We had a small celebration for your birthday a few days ago. Gail bought some beautiful lavender roses that blended so well with the flowers that are always there for you. Janet, Susie, Gail, Jami, Danelle and I toasted you with some Pinot Grigio and shared some with you. Susie and I had just returned from Sioux Falls where we were planning our Amazing Grace Reunion. We also visited Mary and Cecil, Rachel, Julie and Gordy (remember how fun they were in 2010?), David's daughter Kate, and Greg and Mason. You'd have loved the time with them and the tour of the arboretum. So beautiful! With Mary and Cecil we were able to share about our last days with you, and how hard it still is that you are no longer here with us. And that's because your sweet spirit, humor and willingness to embrace your life and those you love leaves such a void in our world. You are loved and missed so very much. All my love always, Jo Ann

Today is Easter and I'm sad that you're not here to spend it with us. I never have spent an Easter with you, but I bet you would wear something colorful and cute like you always did! I hope you're having a great time in heaven and watching over us. It's gonna be sad not seeing you at your house anymore. I miss you tons and I will always love you! Happy Easter! ❤

Mom, it's been a year without you here with us and we still miss you so much.  We know you are at peace and we are all learning to be at peace as well.  We hope you appreciated our little commemoration today (and you thought no one would visit you!).  Six of nine of us were able to make it, as well as Carol, Jami and Lindsay.  The flowers are beautiful, something you would have picked for yourself.  On another note, Randy Johnson (The Big Unit) was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame this week.  No word on what team he will go in there from, so pray it's the Diamondbacks, where he had his greatest years.  I'm so glad you and I were able to go to Game 2 of the World Series in 2001.  What a great accomplishment for Randy and the DBacks.  A day doesn't go by that I don't think about you and miss you, but I thank you everyday for helping me stay strong and enjoy each day as it comes.  I love you.

   Even though it's been a year, it seems like just yesterday that we were lucky enough to have you for one last holiday before having to say good-by.
     A few of the many special memories I cherish of time spent with you include: Bermuda (a highlight of your life), all your help when I was starting my family, the year we spent tole painting together, the Wednesday outings to your hair appointments & lunches. Moments in time to treasure.
     Your life took many turns but you persevered through the down times to come out a stronger person and a shining example of "grace under pressure" for all of the family and friends. You passed down that courage and love and many, many other fine qualities to all who were lucky to be a part of your world.
     Our lives are not the same without you "our central beacon." We were so blessed by your encouragement, acceptance and unconditional love for us. We will love and miss you forever!  Janet (1 of 9)

Mom, It was one year ago that you decided you were ready to go. You said you wanted to see your dad and you sister Dorothy. I know we weren't ready to say goodbye, but we took comfort in knowing that this was your decision, one few get to make. You looked forward to your final mass with Father Ken. We prepared for your homecoming and hung pictures of everyone you love in your room.. You are in our hearts always, but especially now as we approach the anniversary. I love you.

Just thought I would tell you about the Suns recent free agent signing!  Isaiah Thomas! He will be great, but I'm not sure why we need 4-6 point guards, but that's what we have now! haha Channing Frye also left for Orlando and more money, so we really need a big guy!  AND, Lebron returned to Cleveland!  Can you believe it!?  I really miss talking basketball with you, Marge!  Hugs!

Hi, Mom.  It's hard to believe it's been six months since your passing.  There's not a day that goes by that I don't think about you.  I miss you so much (as well all do!).  Wish you were here with us!

Hi, Mom. I'm just remembering our days together last June while Susie and Janet were in the UK. We carried on like best friends; shopping, doing Scrabble puzzles, sharing memories and even talking about "boys." We knew those were precious moments. We hugged a little longer when we said goodbye. Happy Mother's Day from your 9 children! Recently we found a note you wrote, which you probably meant as part of your obituary. It speaks volumes.

"It means I am very blessed, very fortunate to have a wonderful family, good friends, good health, my faith. In my 20's, 30's & even the 40's, I was still raising some of my family & sometimes things were not easy. I went to work at 47 after being at home for 24 years & definitely grew more independent. I grew up in an Irish Catholic home - not much money, strong sense of community, gained confidence after started to work, hoped to meet a nice man to marry. Living a good life, blessed, and lucky too."

We missed adding your work history. After graduating from high school in 1939, you worked for the phone company in White Plains, New York for 5 years before you married. You were able to help your mother and save money for summer vacations in Florida with your friends. On the last trip in 1944, you met your future husband, Jerry, whom you married in 1945. Then you raised your 9 children! With dad's encouragement, you went back to work in 1969 as an Assistant Underwriter at the Arizona State Compensation Fund. You were a supervisor when you retired in 1987, and so proud they were trying to find a Master's level applicant to replace you! Well done, mom! Whether at home, at work, with friends or family, we could always depend on your being there for us. You never left our side. We love you!

Hi Mom. I have to grin as I write this message on my iPhone remembering how you used to comment how lost we'd be without our phones. But I'm so grateful for all the memories and photos of you I have captured and still carry with me. They make me sad because I miss you so much, but also bring me great joy and comfort. You are always with me and I'll always love and miss you.

Mom, it's hard to believe it's been a month since we lost you here.  Although I know you are in a better place, a day doesn't go by that I don't miss you and think about you.  I can't look at pictures of you without crying. We missed you at our Thursday dinner last night but we gave you a proper wine toast and you were definitely there with us in spirit. Mom, I miss you everyday, from not hearing your "good morning" when you got up to "how was you day" when I came home at night. It's always the little things you miss most. Dear Mom, I've been thinking about you often, as I do everyday.  We all miss you so much, but know you are in a happier place.  We are still feeling very selfish that you were taken from us so suddenly and before we were ready for you to go.  Heck, if you waited for us to let you go, that would have never happened!  This is just one of many photos of me with you when we were out having fun with the girls.  Although you won't be with us for our Thursday night gatherings, your spirit will always be there with us. My aunts and my mother were always the best roll models I could find. I will miss you Margie, but I imagine you, Grandma, Aunt Marye and my mother sitting in the kitchen in heaven, drinking coffee and chatting. We'll have a family reunion again some day.

Being married into the Grace family, I count it a blessing that "Margie" allowed me to call her Grandma! Unbelievable patience, kindness, gentleness, and the list goes on...These very attributes are characteristic of the Grace family, with which Grandma was the foundation. Aunt Margie was such a classy woman.  I will remember her as warm and welcoming with the ability to put a person at ease with conversation.  She had a calming personality with a very fun-loving side.  You only smiled when you were in her presence, so today when I remember, I smile.  She had a smile in her eyes that made you feel at home.  Over the years, I was lucky enough to visit a few times on business trips even catching Margie and the girls in Atlanta, GA, where we spent the afternoon shopping and giggling.  Let's not forget the awesome Grace reunions we were able to spend recounting memories and laughing/dancing into the night.  I will miss Aunt Margie, but her memory stays with me. Grandma, there is not enough room to tell share what you have meant to me. As many have mentioned, Grace was such a fitting name. You were an example of grace and also showed it to everyone. Grandma's house was always home and I never wanted to leave. You were a great example and an amazing teacher. You always encouraged and made me feel no matter what I did or choices I made, your love was never changing. You had a great sense of humor which I thoroughly appreciated. You raised 9 fabulous kids. One of which I am blessed to call my Mother. I know that because of you she has been to me what you were to her. I am blessed because of it and by both of you. I know that we are all better parents, spouses, friends, cousins, humans...because of the example set before us. As a young mother I was so thankful to have you around so much. You were such a great encourager and supporter and friend. My kids were so excited every time we got to spend the day with Grandma. Which thankfully was often. So many memories and things that will be a reminder every time I see them....Owls, scrabble boards, puzzles, Jack in the Box tacos!, the jewelry box you let me dig through EVERY time I came to the house, flowers, Charles Barkley, thrift stores...I could go on and on. Loved you so much...will miss you even more. Thankful for so much. Blessed more then I deserve. If I become half the woman you were, I will have accomplished much.
