Pete B. Lopez

79, born September 17, 1933 in Phoenix, AZ to Damasio and Rita Lopez, was welcomed peacefully and with open arms into the pearly gates of heaven by God, our heavenly father, on September 18, 2012. Pete was a kind, generous and loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. A humble man, he always put others before himself. He was known for his quick wit and sense of humor and as an avid Sun Devil and Cardinals football fan. Pete's career spanned many decades starting at the age of 17, where he was employed by Palmer (evaporative cooler manufacturer), and later by Minsch List & Letter, R.L. Polk & Company, Sunaire Construction, the City of Phoenix Microfilm Department and retired after 25 years of service with the U.S. Postal Service in 2005. Pete will be irreplaceable among those who lovingly survive him, including his children, Peter (Cecilia), Teresa, Paul (Maria) and Cynthia; grandchildren, Camillia (Travis), Cecillia, Sarah, Peter, Jr., Paul, Jr., Alyssa and Rachele; great grandchildren, Arriana, Breanna, Lilyanna and Jonathan; brothers, Luis and Carlos; sister, Lupe, and nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be held at 8:30 AM, Tuesday, September 25 at St. Helen's Catholic Church, 5510 West Cholla Street, Glendale, Arizona 85304. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Avondale.
