OBITUARY

Raymond Anthony Cortez Jr.

9 January, 1999 – 13 June, 2020
IN THE CARE OF

West Resthaven Funeral Home & Resthaven Park Cemetery

Raymond Anthony Cortez Jr. passed away unexpectedly due to a tragic motorcycle accident on June 13, 2020. He was only 21 years old and born and raised in Phoenix Arizona. He was part of a big and loving family- he was one of six children. His memory lives on through his mother and father Rosie & Ray Cortez, three sisters Andrea, Cecelia & Anysia, two brothers Richard & Gabriel, two nieces, his grandparents, a loving girlfriend, his dog Capone, many tias & tios, cousins, & friends. Ray was born on January 09, 1999. His love for football started at the age of five. From then on his love for sports grew as he became a talented & athletic young man who could do anything he set his mind to. He played football, basketball, baseball, track & soccer. He graduated a proud Peoria Panther in 2017 from Peoria high school. He worked as a support manager for Walmart & everyone he worked with has such amazing & kind things to say & tells stories of how hard working he was & how he touched all their hearts. In his free time Ray loved to take rides on his Harley with his parents, friends, & the motorcycle club HIGHCLASS VICLAS. Ray was an adventurous human being, he loved taking rides to enjoy the scenery around him & had a passion for the low rider lifestyle he was born into. He cared for everyone he knew and was always an ear to listen for anyone who needed. He was such a goofy person with a billion dollar smile that lit up the entire room anytime he entered one, a laugh that would fill our hearts with joy & dance moves you just had to see. Ray was a handsome, respectful, caring, kind, family oriented young man that will truly be missed. We love you so dearly & pray you ride in paradise peacefully my love until we meet again.

Love,

Mom, dad, sisters & brothers & every persons path that he crossed
