Rodger “Rodg” James Buining, 88, of Sun City entered into heaven on November 26, 2019. Rodg was born on January 8, 1931 in Muskegon, Michigan to Nicholas and Bessie (Morsink) Buining one of three children. After graduating from high school Rodg made a decision to become a minister and went to enroll at Calvin College, where he met the love of his life, Mary Jane "Marijane". Rodg and Marijane were married in Kalamazoo in the family church, just four days before he started seminary at Calvin College. Rodg and Marijane were blessed with three children.
Rodg served as minister in many places such as New Mexico, Minnesota, Michigan, Montana,California and Arizona. He was a visiting pastor at many churches, wrote and delivered Sunday school lessons,was a radio minister, and served as a police Chaplin in both Minnesota and San Francisco. He loved the Lord with all his heart, mind and soul. He taught all of us how lean on the Lord and follow each of our pathes in life.One of his favorite things to say "you can do anything if you believe in God."
Rodg leaves behind his children Vicki (Karl) Roelofs, Randall Scott Buining and Bonnie Jean Buining; grandchildren Melissa (Adam) Bush, Michael Roelofs, Eric (Mary) Roelofs, Heather Christ and Kimberly Hunt; 14 great grandchildren; and his sister Eleanor Vander Mey.
Rodg is preceded by his love Marijane; his parents Nicholas and Bessie and his sister Virginia Norton.
