Ruben James Luque

Ruben James Luque was born on August 17, 1971, at Maryvale Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, to Ruben and Adela Luque. He grew up in Peoria, Arizona, where he graduated from Peoria High School in 1989.

Ruben dedicated over 25 years of his life to Walmart, where he was known as a hardworking and respected employee. More than anything, Ruben was proud of his family and the life he built with them.

He is survived by his loving parents, Ruben and Adela Luque; his brother, Gabriel Luque; his children, Ruby Luque, Francisco, Ryan, and Zurina Turrey; his grandchildren, Mason, Melanie, and Mateo; and his daughters-in-law, Zilce Turrey and Katlyn Samaniego.

Ruben received his Catholic sacraments, and in his final moments, he was surrounded by prayer and the rosary. He passed peacefully on January 3, 2026.

Ruben will be remembered for his dedication, quiet strength, and the love he had for his family. He will be deeply missed.

A visitation will be held on January 12, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, located at 7924 North 59th Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301. Following the visitation, a prayer service will take place at the same location from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

The committal service is scheduled for January 13, 2026, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6450 W Northern Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301. A celebration of life will follow at the home of Gabriel Luque, starting at 11:30 am.

Ruben James Luque will be laid to rest at Resthaven Park Cemetery, located at 6450 West Northern Ave, Glendale.
