

Santiago aka Jimmy was born December 4th, 1978 in Phoenix, AZ. Jimmy was the oldest child of Yolanda Granado and Jose Rodriguez. Jimmy surpassed potential struggles caused from having cerebral palsy and being non verbal . Jimmy thrived in life, he attended Horizon Elementary where he met one of his favorite teachers and a advocate Roger. Roger and Jimmy developed a way for him too communicate by using a head pointer. Although he was wheelchair bound that never stopped him, Jimmy enjoyed teaching others how to use his communication device he often showed his speech therapist new things. Jimmy graduated from Glendale High School in 1999, prior to graduating one of his teachers was Dale Whitney and Jeremy Romero who was a very close friend and also part of the family. Jimmy was a prankster he loved to crack jokes and see others smile, Jeremy actually posted on Facebook one of the first memories with Jimmy " I remember when I first met Jimmy it was my freshmen year of high school. We went on a class trip to San Diego we walked past a newsstand and Jimmy told me to grab a adult magazine and once I grabbed it he tells Dale look what Jeremy had in his hand. I got in trouble he smiled and laughed for 2 hours. I miss Jimmy." Jimmy loved music and dancing, he loved music so much he started deejay and he went by the name 'Djwheelz.'
