William Ray Armstrong

William R. Armstrong, 83, passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021, in Glendale Arizona. He was born July 29, to the late Earl and Hattie (Dawson) Armstrong in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee. He graduated from Clark High School class of 1955, then joined the Air Force in the spring of 1957 where he served for 29 years retiring as a Master Sergeant. William started his own Handyman and Carpentry business after retiring from the Air Force.

He was an active member of the Luke AFB Chapel.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, shopping at the base, playing on his computer, playing dominos with his son, and on special occasions going to Laughlin where he liked playing Keno. William also enjoyed fishing, loved going to the aquarium and taking care of his angel fish. He liked going to family dinners on Sunday and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and friends. In addition, he liked to work on his house doing home improvements.

William was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years Georgia and his son Ephraim (surviving wife Louvernia).

William is survived by his children Sheryl, Veronica, Warren, Andreia (Casey), Jacquelyn (Christopher) and Kimberly; siblings Edward (Theodore), Joe and Anita; grandchildren, Rashawn, Raquel, Ryan, Danielle, Vanessa W, Keith, Alisha, Mikayla, Christopher, Jonathan, Drayton, Miles, Tammy, Eric, Alexia and Vanessa; 12 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren and many other loving family and friends.

A visitation for William will be held Tuesday, October 12, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, 7924 North 59th Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, October 12, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 7924 North 59th Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, October 12, 2021 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024.
