August 15, 1933 – February 10, 2026
Alfonso Bringas, Jr., lovingly known as Al or “Junior,” passed away on February 10, 2026, at the age of 92 after a long illness.
Junior was born on August 15, 1933, in Los Angeles, California, to Alfonso E. Bringas and Agnes Whitlow Bringas. He attended and graduated from Los Angeles High School, where he played football and met his first wife, Alberta “Skippy” Bringas (now deceased).
Following high school, Junior proudly served in the U.S. Army with the 82nd Airborne Division. His time in the Army was an important chapter in his life; one he often recalled with both pride and humor.
After completing his military service, Junior joined the family business, Bringas Brothers Music Co., where he worked alongside his father, Alfonso Sr., and his uncles, Manuel and Rosendo Bringas, for more than 40 years.
Junior met his beloved wife, Theresa Mojarro Bringas, at her family’s restaurant, where Bringas Brothers had installed a jukebox. Their relationship began there and blossomed into a lifelong love. Through their marriage, Junior became a cherished and respected member of the Mojarro family, and he and Theresa shared many loving years together.
After their marriage, Junior and Theresa deepened their faith and became devoted members of the America Para Cristo Con Maria Ministry, affiliated with the Catholic Church. Through this ministry they attended many retreats, and Junior traveled throughout the United States and to El Salvador as part of missionary work. Together they also volunteered with City of Hope, helping to raise funds for the organization. Each year, Junior and Theresa sold tickets for the City of Hope Awards in Las Vegas, where his father, Alfonso Sr., also participated. Through these experiences, Junior’s faith continued to grow, and both his faith and family remained central to his life.
Junior loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed coaching his sons in Little League baseball and watching his sons and the Mojarro boys play sports, including football, baseball, basketball, and soccer. He was an avid fan of football and boxing and enjoyed watching classic movies, whether at the theater or at home on the big screen.
Travel was another great joy in Junior’s life. He especially loved visiting Mexico with the Mojarro family, spending time in Puerto Vallarta, Cancun, Cabo San Lucas, Manzanillo, Tijuana, Rosarito, Ensenada, and San Felipe. The beach was one of his favorite places, where he enjoyed the sun, sand, and ocean. Junior also loved good food, particularly Mexican and Chinese cuisine.
Junior was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Laura Farias.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Theresa Mojarro Bringas, and his six children with his first wife: Loretta Haemker (Fred), Al Peter Bringas (Caroline), Roger Bringas (Raquel), Carl Bringas (Fraulein), Ellie Correll (Terry), and Cristina Miller (Kevin).
He is also survived by his grandchildren: Michael, Brian, Scott, Kaylene, John-Morgan, Elizabeth, Gillian, Rella, and Jamie; and his great-grandchildren: Amiyah, Liam, Mila, and Aria.
Junior is further survived by the extended Mojarro family, whose lives he touched deeply and who remained an important part of his life.
Junior will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
